Last year he had 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Stafford only completed 56% of his passes and threw for over 2500 yards. These numbers are decent but not enough to lift a team to greatness. Also, Knowshon Moreno has been deemed one of the top running backs in the league. He is a great athlete but he is going to have to prove himself again. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t doubt that Georgia is going to be a good team and have a great year. The problem that I have is that people are already giving them the title before they even play a game. The Bulldogs have a pretty tough schedule. Their coach, Mark Richt is good but hasn’t really been able to take the next step. Georgia has an excellent team but it would be a big mistake to support them just because they are the preseason number 1 without seeing how they perform on the field.

Many people are starting to doubt the competitiveness of the Big Ten conference. Fans are bettors think the Big Ten is not a good conference and they could not be more wrong. Sure, Ohio State has played poorly in two straight BCS National Championship games, but at least they have managed to get their. The Big Ten is a much better conference than many people are giving them credit for. Ohio State is defiantly a top 5 team in my mind and will be a very quality squad this year. Michigan however might have some rough moments because they are lacking a quarterback. They have a new head coach who is very creative on the offensive end and I feel that they can get at least 8 wins this year. Wisconsin doesn’t really have a quarterback this year either, but they do have a running back. The Badgers are just as much a threat as Ohio State this year. Five of the conference’s 11 teams appear in the preseason poll. The SEC only has 4 and the Pac-10 just 3. The Big Ten is not a bad conference and make sure that you do not take it lightly this year or it could come back to hurt you.
