Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills Odds

Written by Jimmy Boyd on December 15, 2011

The Buffalo Bills (5-8) will try to avoid a seventh straight loss when they host the Miami Dolphins (4-9) Sunday.

There is currently no line for this game as odds makers wait on the status of Miami quarterback Matt Moore, who left with a head injury in last Sunday’s 26-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Moore, who is currently listed as questionable, completed 11 of 19 passes for 95 yards with one touchdown and one interception before being replaced by J.P. Losman, who connected on 6 of 10 throws for 60 yards and no picks.

Brandon Marshall hauled in the Dolphins’ lone touchdown and finished with 27 yards on four catches.

Reggie Bush led the way on the ground with 103 yards on 14 carries.

It’s been a miserable stretch for the Bills, who got off to a promising 5-2 start. Not much went right in last Sunday’s 37-10 loss to the San Diego Chargers.

Ryan Fitzpatrick connected on just 13 of 34 throws for 176 yards and two interceptions. Four passes found the hands of Stevie Johnson, who led the team with 116 receiving yards.

C.J. Spiller led the rushing attack with 46 of the team’s 96 yards on the ground.

The Dolphins could find winning a difficult task if Moore isn’t able to go. He had thrown eight touchdowns and one interception in his last five games while leading the Phins to a 4-1 record prior to last week.

Losman, who hadn’t completed a pass in the NFL since 2008, could face the team that drafted him Sunday. He started 33 games in five seasons with the Bills, throwing 33 touchdown passes and 34 interceptions.

Whether Moore or Losman is under center, Buffalo can count on seeing plenty of hand-offs to Reggie Bush and Daniel Thomas. That’s because it enters Week 15 ranked 25th in the league against the run with 130.7 yards allowed per game.

The Bills’ best bet will be passing the football. The Dolphins are third in the league against the run with 89.9 yards allowed per game but 25th against the pass with 244.4 yards allowed per contest.

The Dolphins have won five of the last seven in this series with the most recent being a 35-8 victory last month. They are 5-2 against the spread in those games. They also enter this contest having covered the number in six of their last seven.

The Bills, meanwhile, are 1-5 against the spread in their last six.

In regard to the total, the under has been the play in this series recently, going 7-3-1 in the last 11 meetings.
