Philadelphia Eagles at Arizona Cardinals NFL Odds & Predictions

And there were four. There are only two teams remaining in each conference and two of the most unlikely teams to win the Super Bowl heading into the postseason will battle it out to see which will represent the NFC in the conference title game on Sunday January, 18 at 3:00 EST. The Arizona Cardinals won the NFC West division, but that hardly seemed to be an accomplishment considering how weak of a division it was. The Cardinals were underdogs in both of their first two playoff games and have defied the NFL odds to put themselves right on the brink of the impossible. Once again, they will be the underdog in this week’s contest, but that has a lot to do with the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles crushed them 48-20 on Thanksgiving night. The Philadelphia Eagles are listed as 4-point favorites with the total set at 47.
It was no easy road for the Eagles to reach this point either. They had to beat a Dallas Cowboys team, picked by NFL odds makers to win the NFC prior to the season, in week 17 to make the postseason. The Eagles didn’t just win, they won big. After winning at Minnesota in the Wild Card round, the Eagles then had to defeat the, reigning Super Bowl champion and division rival, New York Giants on the road. Like the Giants did a season ago, the Eagles will be asked to win one more time on the road to reach the Super Bowl.
Philadelphia knows that it cannot expect the same Cardinals teams that it dominated during the regular season as the postseason version of Arizona has been much better. The Cardinals have been able to run the football, which was something they did poorly in the regular season, and they have been able to shut down their opponents with their defense – something that did not appear possible in the final few weeks of the regular season when teams were racking up points on them. While Donovan McNabb has played in a Super Bowl and led the Eagles to, now, its fifth NFC title game in the last eight seasons, his counterpart, Kurt Warner has won a Super Bowl and also taken home MVP honors in that game. This matchup very well could come down to which QB has the better day. In the first meeting this season, that was the case.
In the Thanksgiving night game, McNabb played the QB position as well as I’ve ever seen him, bouncing back strong from being benched the previous week. He completed 27 of 39 passes for 252 yards and threw four touchdown strikes. Warner was able to move the chains, and did throw three touchdowns passes, but the Eagles were able to intercept him three times. If you like Philadelphia to advance to the Super Bowl, bet the Eagles at Bookmaker and receive a 20 percent cash sign up bonus.
While Philadelphia has proven that it can win big games on the road, the Cardinals will gladly welcome any team to the desert to play them. Arizona has won seven of nine home games this season and if you’ve been doing any NFL betting, you know that they have covered the spread in six of those. If you think Arizona’s home field advantage gets it to the promise land, bet the Cardinals at +4 at Bookmaker.
