Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys Odds
The Philadelphia Eagles (6-8) will be looking for a third straight victory when they visit the Dallas Cowboys (8-6) Saturday.
The Eagles are currently a 1.5-point underdog with the total set at 50.5.
Philadelphia has rattled off a pair of impressive wins since Michael Vick’s return from injury, including a 45-19 rout of the New York Jets Sunday.
Vick completed 15 of 22 passes for 274 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for a score.
Tight end Brent Celek had a monster game. He was on the receiving end of five of Vick’s completions, including the touchdown toss, and finished with a game-high 156 receiving yards.
LeSean McCoy led the way on the ground with 102 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries.
The Cowboys, who crushed Tampa Bay 31-15 last Saturday, regained the top spot in the NFC East thanks to Washington’s win over the New York Giants.
Tony Romo continued his stellar play, connecting on 23 of 30 pass attempts for 249 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Four passes found the hands of tight end Jason Witten, who led the team with 77 receiving yards.
Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and Laurent Robinson caught the three touchdown strikes.
Felix Jones headed up the ground attack with 108 of the team’s 160 rushing yards.
The Dallas defense came ready to play last week after giving up 510 yards of offense in a 37-34 loss to the Giants in Week 14. It held the Bucs to just 190 yards. It better be ready to play again this week or the Eagles could be poised for another blowout win.
The Cowboys, who are 13th in the league in both total and scoring defense with 333.4 yards and 21.1 points allowed per game, gave up 495 yards to the Eagles in a 34-7 defeat on Oct. 30.
Dallas will especially have to tighten the screws against the run. It is 2-4 this season when giving up 100 or more rushing yards in a game and surrendered 239 yards on the ground in its earlier loss to Philadelphia.
Slowing down the Eagles’ rushing attack will be no easy task. Led by McCoy, who leads the league in touchdowns (20) and ranks second with 1,274 rushing yards, the Eagles average 149.8 rushing yards per game.
The Cowboys have won four of the last six in this series straight up and against the spread, but they face some daunting statistics Saturday.
They are 3-10 against the number in their last 13 home games as a favorite and 1-5-1 against the spread in their last seven games as a favorite of 3.0 points or less.
In regard to the total, the over just might be the play. The Cowboys have played to the over in 12 of their last 16 at home, and the Eagles have finished over the total in 10 of their last 13 on the road.
