This Monday night will find us betting on Eagles Packers and making a little cash with both the side and the total. If you want to go at it alone and try to beat the NFL odds by yourself, then take a look at this article.
Brett Favre on the Monday Night stage-I’m watching and playing Monday Night’s big matchup between the Packers and the Eagles. The Eagles come in as 11-point favorites as they try to light up the score board yet again this week. Brett Favre showed last week that he’s still got it throwing for 340 yards and three touchdowns. But more importantly, he didn’t throw an interception for the first time in 12 games.
There are three major questions to ask when looking at Monday night’s matchup. Was Green Bay’s offensive performance last week a fluke? How much better is Philadelphia than Detroit? And there is one more question that will come up later. First off, there is no fluke about Brett Favre. The guy is perhaps the NFL’s best competitor of all time, but at times his competitiveness is to a fault. That’s why he is so prone to throwing costly interceptions. He tries to make big plays for his team by forcing throws instead of taking what the defense is giving him. The Eagles offense is looking quite a bit better than Detroit’s to answer my second question, but their defenses are comparable. Philly gave up 24 points to the 49ers last week and 30 points to the Giants the week before. However, the Packers have been very good at giving up points as well. They are allowing their opponents to score an average of 28 points per game after the first three weeks and none of their opponents have had a Donovan McNabb at quarterback or a Brain Westbrook at tailback.
This leads us to the our final question which will give us our winning side. How much better is Philadelphia’s offense than the previous Packers opponents? If you can crack this egg, then you can capitalize of Monday night’s big game. Jimmy Boyd has looked at every angle of this game and I have uncovered Monday Night’s big winner. When you really go over the offensive and defensive matchups on a position by position level, the answer is clear. If you’re playing Monday Night Football this week, make sure you’re on board with Jimmy Boyd.
