Philadelphia Eagles at Seattle Seahaws Odds

The Philadelphia Eagles (4-7) and Seattle Seahawks (4-7) kick off Week 13 Thursday night at CenturyLink Field.

The Eagles are currently listed as a three-point favorite with the total set at 45.5.

Philadelphia’s disappointing season continued with a 38-20 home loss to the New England Patriots last Sunday.

Filling in for an injured Michael Vick, Vince Young connected on 26 of 48 pass attempts for 400 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also led the way on the ground with 40 yards on six carries, but it wasn’t enough.

Eight of Young’s completions, including the touchdown toss, went to Jason Avant, who led the team with 110 receiving yards.

Last week, the Seahawks had their two-game winning streak snapped with a 23-17 home loss to the Washington Redskins, who ended a six-game skid.

Tarvaris Jackson completed 14 of 30 passes for 144 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Five of those passes found the hands of Doug Baldwin, who led the team with 60 receiving yards.

Golden Tate and Marshawn Lynch hauled in the two touchdown passes. Lynch also led the rushing attack with 111 yards on 24 carries.

Lynch could be poised for another 100-yard rushing effort this week against a Philadelphia defense that ranks 15th in the NFL with 110.3 rushing yards allowed per game.

There’s a good chance the Seahawks will win if he reaches the century mark. The Eagles are 0-6 in their last six games when giving up 100 or more rushing yards.

The Seahawks, who are averaging 132.8 rushing yards over their last four games, are 4-2 this season when eclipsing the century mark on the ground.

After rushing for at least 108 yards in every game this season, the Eagles were held to 73 yards on the ground last week.

They still rank second in the NFL with 159.5 rushing yards per game but could fail to reach their season average a third straight week.

With the possibility Vick could miss a third straight start, and with LeSean McCoy – the NFL’s leading rusher – slowed by a toe injury, the Eagles could have trouble grinding this one out.

Seattle has been pretty solid against the run, ranking 11th in the league with 101.1 yards allowed per game, but it fell to 0-5 this season when allowing an opponent to run for more than 100 yards when it gave up 110 rushing yards to the Redskins.

These two have split the last eight meetings with the Eagles winning the most recent one 26-7 in Seattle on Nov. 2, 2008. Philly might have the edge again considering the road team is 6-0 against the spread in the last six meetings.

The Eagles are also 4-0 against the number in their last four Thursday contests.

As far as the total is concerned, the over just might be the play. The Eagles have played to the over in nine of their last 11 on the road, and the Seahawks have finished over the total in each of their last four home games.
