The Philadelphia 76ers resume a six-game road stint tonight against the Denver Nuggets. Philly has dropped two straight games, most recently on Tuesday against the defending-champion Boston Celtics.
The Sixers are just 5-8 when playing outside of Philadelphia this season and have a tough road ahead of them with the Jazz, Clippers, Mavs, and Spurs to follow their game tonight against the Nuggets.
The Nuggets are another team that’s been struggling as of late. They’ve lost 4 of their last 5, including a 9-point defeat at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers their last time out.
Denver has lost four of its last five games, including Tuesday’s 101-92 setback to the Northwest Division-rival Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Garden. On an important injury note, the Nuggets best player, Carmelo Anthony has missed the teams’ last two games, and is expected to sit out tonight. The Nuggets have enjoyed a ton of success on their home court, notching a 10-4 record this season in 14 games at Denver.
Oddsmakers have made the Nuggets a 6.5 point favorite. Denver will certainly miss the contributions of ‘Melo, but they Nuggest have defended their home hardwood well this season. Expect Kenyon Martin to step up and fill some of the void left by Anthony and the Nuggets to defeat the 76ers, plus cover the 6.5 point spread.
