The Janus Report: Free NBA Pick for 12/27
The Portland Trail Blazers try to continue dominating on their home court tonight as they host the the Toronto Raptors. Portland is currently 10-3 at home this season and is playing in their third game of a five game home stint. In the Blazers’ most recent game at home against the Dallas Mavericks, the Blazers came up just short, making it all the more likely that they will rebound tonight versus the
The Raptors are currently on game five of a six game road trip of their own. They are 2-2 so far on this trek after winning back to back games, their most recent victory coming last Friday over the Sacramento Kings. Their last two wins came to end a five-game losing streak and to improve their road record on the season to 7-9. Jermaine O’Neal has really stepped up his game for the Raptors of late. He scored 36 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in their win over the Kings Friday. They’ll need O’Neal to continue to be a dominating force tonight against a Portland team that really doesn’t have anyone that matches up well with him.
Even without someone fit to contain Jermaine O’Neal, the Blazers are clearly a better team. They’ve protected their home court well, and covered the spread in 8 of the 13 games they’ve had in Portland this year. With the Raptors on a long road trip the Blazers should be able to take even more advantage of their home court and jump on Toronto early. Portland has won two of the last three meetings between the teams and tonight they win by at least 10.
Take the Portland Trailblazers -8
Predicted Score: Portland Trail Blazers 108, Toronto Raptors 88
