Verlander is 8-3 on the season with a 3.31 ERA and his stuff should be plenty good enough against a Houston team scoring only 3.9 runs per game at home this season. The Astros send Wandy Rodriguez to the hill, who has been consistently good at home the last couple seasons. But without very good run support, and facing one of the best hitting teams in the league against lefty starters, I have to give the edge to the Tigers in this matchup. Detroit is 15-6 against lefty starters this season, scoring 5.4 runs per game against them. Lastly, the Tigers are 4-0 in their last 4 meetings with the Astros. Take the Tigers.
