OddsHatton Mayweather Betting Odds
& Predictions
With Hatton Mayweather around the corner, it's
time to look at the latest betting odds and give a few
predictions as to how the fight is going to turn out.
Ricky Hatton really wanted this fight, and since Floyd
Mayweather's philosophy is "if it makes money, it makes
sense," it's going to happen even though Mayweather
hinted he was retiring after beating Oscar De La Hoya in
May. There has been a lot of trash talk coming out
of the pretty boy's mouth, saying Hatton is one of the
most over-rated fighters of the day. The
bookmakers seem to agree as online gambling powerhouse
BetUS
has listed him as an early -230 favorite to win the
bout.

Hatton is not a known commodity among
American bettors and that could be some of the reason
that he is such a big dog coming into this match.
He is a huge draw in England though, and is undefeated.
His popularity in his home country comes from his wild,
all out style which should win over the American
audience who turn in to see this fight. Hatton is
coming off a big win against Jose Luis Castillo, a fight
in which he was only a small favorite but looked
dominate in winning a unanimous decision. Castillo
had fought Mayweather back in 2002 and nearly upset the
pretty boy.
One of these fighters is going to leave
the ring with his first loss, and that is why Oscar De
La Hoya's promotion company, Golden Boy Promotions, is
labeling the fight "Undefeated." This fight is
going to take place on December 8th, 2007 in Las Vegas
and will be the biggest match-up of undefeateds since De
La Hoya took on Felix Trinidad. That fight held
the record for the best selling non-heavyweight fight
until De La Hoya's recent bout against Mayweather.
There is no doubt in our mind that this purse is going
to be huge as well.
So who is going to win? We like
Hatton, but the fact that he has to move up to fight at
147 is going to hurt him a little bit. Mayweather
is moving down in weight and has a 6 inch advantage in
reach. He'll be the more technical fighter and has
a knock for not getting knocked out. If Hatton is
going to win, it's going to be by knockout, and if
Mayweather wins, it'll be by a decision. If you
want the most value then parlay which fighter you take
the the over/under corresponding below and you'll be
better off.
