Texas has struggled against speed QB’s like Ohio State’s Terrelle Pryor. They allowed 201 rushing yards to Baylor just 3 games back, who have a speedy QB that burnt the Longhorns all game long. 3.) This shows that Mississippi State lacks the focus it takes to win consistently this season and put together back-to-back solid performances. 2.) Western Kentucky has proven they can hang with the big boys. The Hilltoppers are 9-4 on the season, including wins over solid teams like Louisville, Southern Illinois, Georgia, South Alabama and Arkansas-Little Rock. They actually went on the road to beat Louisville, who were the #3 Ranked team in the country at the time. Western Kentucky is the better team in this match-up, and the only reason Mississippi State is even favored is because they are playing at home. But home-court advantage does not mean this team is 7.5 points better than Western Kentucky. 3.) Trends favoring the Hilltoppers. Western Kentucky is 18-5 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record over the last 2 seasons. WKU is 9-1 ATS when playing against a good team (Win Pct. 60% to 80%) over the last 2 seasons. The Hilltoppers are 10-1 ATS after a game forcing opponent to commit 25 or more turnovers since 1997.
