Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans Odds
The Tennessee Titans (7-7) will try to avoid a third consecutive defeat when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-10) Saturday.
Odds makers have the Titans coming out on top, listing them as a seven-point favorite with the total set at 39.5.
The Titans will most likely get a Christmas card from the Indianapolis Colts after last week’s 27-13 loss in Indy gave the Colts their first win of the season.
Matt Hasselbeck completed 27 of 40 passes for 223 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions before being replaced by Jake Locker, who finished 11 of 16 for 108 yards and a touchdown.
Jared Cook led the team with nine receptions and 103 receiving yards. Nate Washington, who caught seven passes for 62 yards, was on the receiving end of Tennessee’s lone touchdown.
Chris Johnson led the way on the ground with 55 yards on 15 carries.
The Jaguars enter Week 16 off an embarrassing 41-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Blaine Gabbert connected on 12 of 22 pass attempts for 141 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Three passes, including the touchdown toss, found the hands of Chastin West, who finished with 38 receiving yards – one fewer than Taylor Price’s team-high 39.
Maurice Jones-Drew led the rushing attack with 112 yards on 17 carries.
Jones-Drew, who leads the NFL with 1,334 rushing yards, could be poised for a big game Saturday. The Titans, who rank just 23rd in the league against the run with 127.7 yards allowed per game, gave up 205 rushing yards to the Colts Sunday.
A big day on the ground from Jones-Drew figures to go a long way toward a Jacksonville victory.
The Jaguars have won the last two in this series with the most recent being a 16-14 home victory on Sept. 11. Jones-Drew gained 97 of the team’s 163 rushing yards and scored a touchdown in that game.
Winning on the road will be no easy task for the Jaguars, who are just 1-6 straight up and 2-4-1 against the spread when playing away from home this season. Going back to last season, the Jaguars are 2-6-1 against the number in their last nine road games.
Tennessee is 4-3 straight up and 3-4 against the spread at home this season. It has really struggled at home when laying more than a field goal.
The Titans are 18-42 ATS in their last 60 games as a home favorite of 3.5 to 10.0 points.
In regard to the total, the under has been the play recently. These two have finished under the number in each of their last four matchups.
