Jets’ Mark Sanchez May Need Knee Surgery
New York Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez had an up and down season as you might expect from a rookie signal caller. He got out of the gate strong but then became a magnet for throwing interceptions. But the Jets stuck with their guy, with a more conservative game plan, and it paid off as Sanchez helped lead them to the AFC Championship Game while playing pretty solid football.
The Jets were able to run over the competition late in the season, but in order to take their game to the next level offensively, they are going to need to see improvement from Sanchez and the passing game. Wide receiver Braylon Edwards, who caught two passes for 100 yards and a touchdown against the Colts, has expressed that an offseason of working with Sanchez could really help the development of the young signal caller.
But, the New York Post has reported that Sanchez is in Alabama visiting Dr. James Andrews concerning a knee injury that started back on December 3rd. If this knee injury ends up needing surgery, it could end up setting back New York’s plans to open up the offense more this season.
