way for us to clear things up is to use an example of
what you will see in a typical game. Team A will
be listed with a minus sign in front of their number if
they are the favorite to win the game, let's say it is
-125. This means that you have to bet $125 to win
$100. Now you don't have to bet $100 but any
lesser amount will be divided accordingly so if you try
to win $50 then you will have to bet $62.50.
Now
let's take a look at things if you want to go with the
underdog. The team that is not favored to win the
game will most likely have a plus sign in front of their
number. If you bet $100 on that team then you are
going to win whatever the number is after the plus sign.
Let's just say that Team B is listed at +115. If
you risk $100 with your wager then you will win $115 if
your team cashes in. Of course you don't have to
bet $100 but the amount you win will be proportional to
the amount you bet in this $100 to $115 ratio.
