NBA Playoff Odds: Orlando Magic vs. Philadelphia 76ers Game 3
The Orlando Magic have had no trouble building leads through the first two games of this series, but they have had trouble keeping them. The 76ers have faced 18-point deficits in each game and were able to claw their way back to steal away home court in one of them. Now the series shifts to Philadelphia for Game 3, and you can take it in on ESPN 2 at 8:00 pm EST on Friday, April 24. NBA odds makers feel this will be the tightest of Friday’s playoff matchups, listing the Orlando Magic as a 3.5-point favorite with the total set at 191.
The Orlando Magic are the more talented team, and they are the deeper team, but they enter Game 3 all tied up with six-seed Philadelphia. So far, the Magic have lacked a killer instinct and have been soft at times defensively. If Orlando wants to take back home court, it is going to have to start playing with a little bit more of a nasty streak. Winning on the road has not been a problem for Orlando, who finished the regular season with a 27-14 road record. The Magic were also an impressive 27-14 against the spread in those games. Magic backers are hoping that the road will get them back in the black because their teams has been fade material lately, losing seven of their last eight games against the number. The Magic should not be lacking any confidence in Game 3 as they have won four of the last five meetings in this matchup in Philly and nine of the last 12 in this matchup overall. The 76ers do not have an answer for Dwight Howard on the block. It will be important for the big fella to stay out of foul trouble so that he can continue to be a force on both ends of the floor. If you like Orlando to continue its dominance over Philly, bet the Magic at -3.5 at BetUS and receive up to 145% in sign up bonuses.
The 76ers have showed a lot of toughness in each of the first two games in this series. They have fallen behind big but have battled back to steal one on the road. While they are experiencing major matchup problems and must compete with inferior talent, they have a never say die attitude that will make them very tough to beat at home. Andre Iguodala has been very solid in this series and I think he can be even more aggressive. He has the ability to go to the hole to put Dwight Howard in foul trouble. Keeping Howard out of the game as much as possible is a big key in pulling off the series upset. The 76ers must also continue to get major contributions from point guard Andre Miller. With Jameer Nelson sidelined, point guard is perhaps the only position on the floor where the 76ers have a sizeable advantage. Miller went for 30 points in Game 2 and he must continue to win his matchup. The Magic are usually content with living and dying by the three-point shot so if Philly can force them to shoot contested three-pointers, you have to like their chances in Game 3. Bet the 76ers at +3.5 at BetUS.
