NFL Power Rankings – Week 11

Written by Jimmy Boyd

Tennessee Titans
The Titans rose to the occasion against the Bears.  They answered a lot of questions about their offense with an outstanding passing performance by Kerry Collins when the running game was nowhere to be found.  The Titans are currently at +500 odds to win the Super Bowl this year.

New York Giants
The Giants scored big with a convincing win over the Eagles.  There’s a good chance we’ll see them in the Super Bowl again this year.

Carolina Panthers
The Panthers just keep on winning.  Granted, they still have some of their best competition ahead of them.

Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh has lost two of their last three, one was to the Giants, the other to a revitalized Indianapolis team.  No reason to push the panic button just yet.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The pesky Bucs keep hanging around and are just one game back of the Panthers in the NFC South, a team they beat earlier this year.  Their biggest remaining game is a rematch against Carolina on Monday Night Football December 8th.

New England Patriots
The Pats aren’t as inept as expected without Tom Brady.  They are currently tied with the Jets atop the AFC East.

New York Jets
The only thing keeping the Jets behind the Pats is the fact they’ve lost to them.  When they meet again this Thursday it might be a different story.

Washington Redskins
As long as Clinton Portis is in the lineup they have a chance to win against just about anyone.  They won’t chase down the Giants, but are in the conversation for a possible Wild Card birth.

Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons cleaned house after the Mike Vick incident and it’s paid off in a big way.  The Falcons are a legit contender.

Indianapolis Colts
Indy is the best 5-4 team in the league right now.  It’s seems like they’ve finally broken out of their early season slump.  Right now BetUs.com has the Colts at +1400 odds to end up winning the Super Bowl.

Baltimore Ravens
Joe Flacco has given the Ravens offense some life.  Couple that with a defense that’s still among the best in the league and you’ve got a deadly combo.

Arizona Cardinals
Despite their major hiccups against the 49ers on Monday Night Football, the Cardinals are going to run away with the NFC West.

Philadelphia Eagles
They are yet to pick up a win in the NFC East, but the Eagles are still dangerous.  They’ll need to prove that the rest of the way to avoid finishing last in the best division in football right now.

Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys have struggled without Tony Romo and their defense is not as good as advertised.  Luckily, Romo should be back to help the situation for their next game.

Miami Dolphins
The Fins have made a nice recovery from their embarrassing 2007 season and have won three in a row to move into a tie for the best divisional record at 2-1.

Chicago Bears
The offense still isn’t there, and the Bears’ secondary got cut to pieces by Kerry Collins and the Titans their last time out.

Minnesota Vikings
They could rename the Vikings the Adrian Petersons this year.  When he’s on the field (and healthy) they win.

Buffalo Bills
Buffalo looked to be headed to the playoffs this year, that is, until they lost all three of their games in the division.

San Diego Chargers
The Chargers are still loaded with talent, but are just 4-5.  Injuries and coaching are the likeliest culprits.

Green Bay Packers
Rogers isn’t Brett Favre, but give him a little more time to develop.  Where did the running game go?

Denver Broncos
The worst 5-4 team in the league.  The Broncos can pass, but their running game and defense leave much to be desired.

Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jags have played well in their own division, but they’ll need the Titans to falter in a big way to make the playoffs.  It doesn’t look like their non-divisional record is going to be enough to sneak into the postseason.

Houston Texans
The Texans have had a lot of bad luck in some big games this year.  What’s that old saying about luck being the result of execution?

Cleveland Browns
Hey, at least Brady Quinn is finally playing and looking like a solid starter.  We will have to see how he fares against the stiffer competition that’s on the way, though.

San Francisco 49ers
Like his style or hate it, Mike Singletary has brought the 49ers back from the dead.  Will the 49ers brass think the same come next season when it’s time to determine Singletary’s fate with the organization?

Seattle Seahawks
Getting Hasselbeck back should help.  He gives them exactly one offensive weapon.

Oakland Raiders
Any time the Raiders show any signs of life, they completely collapse the next week.  Of course, those signs of life have been few and far between.

Kansas City Chiefs
With the group of guys the Chiefs put out on the field each week, it’s a wonder they have been competitive in as many games as they have been.

Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals have a tough stretch of games the rest of the way.  Their only legit chance at another win comes at home against Kansas City in Week 17.

St. Louis Rams
It’s obvious the Rams miss Steven Jackson, but that can’t excuse the 4 games the Rams lost while he was healthy.

Detroit Lions
Still no wins.
