NFL Power Rankings: Week 13
After the fall of the Titans, the New York Giants now top our NFL power rankings after they beat the Cardinals last week without Brandon Jacobs or Plaxico Burress. The Giants are 3.5 point favorites at Washington this week.
The Tennessee Titans still come in strong at #2 in the rankings this week. Their defense looked vulnerable for the first time all year.
The Jets have won 6 in a row including last week on the road against the then-undefeated Titans and two weeks ago at New England. Hard to believe this team was once 3-3 after losing to Oakland in week 6.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won’t be accused of being exciting to watch, but they are one of the best teams on NFL right now.
The Steelers haven’t looked good for the last three weeks, but they’ve walked away 2-1, if they get hot at the right time, look out.
It was only a matter of time before the Indianapolis Colts got back on track. After a 3-4 start, the Colts have won 4 in a row including games against New England, at Pitt, and at San Diego.
Carolina is still a good team, but they didn’t look like it against Atlanta last week giving up 45 points. Carolina heads to Green Bay in week 13 as a 3 point underdog.
The Patriots appear to be adjusting to life without Tom Brady just fine. The only problem? They are losing close games against good opponents. Brady has a history of winning those types of games.
The Falcons rebounded nicely after losing to Denver two weeks ago by laying the wood to Carolina. Atlanta easily could have fallen off track, but did not.
Dallas and Tony Romo appear to be “back”, but they’ll need to do more than beat the 49ers to move up the power rankings. The Cowboys still have the Steelers, Giants, Ravens, and Eagles left on the schedule. Yikes!
The Ravens couldn’t solve the Giants two weeks ago, but hand no problem destroying the Eagles last week. This is still a team that could do a lot of damage.
Washington won’t go away. The Redskins are now 7-4 and continue to do just enough to win. They have a tough road ahead, though, starting with the Giants this Sunday.
The Vikings have looked great on defense and great in the running game this year. Now, if they could only figure out their passing game.
The Saints blew out the Packers on Monday night football. Brees is on pace to break the single season passing record, but New Orleans has been mediocre at just 6-5 this year.
The Bears have only won back to back games once this year. They won last week at St. Louis, but have a tough game this week in Minnesota.
The Dolphins got rocked by the Patriots last week, but Miami could still end up in the playoffs if things go right the rest of the way.
The Bills ended a 4 game losing streak by roughing up the Kansas City Chiefs. They get San Francisco in Buffalo this Sunday to hopefully keep building their confidence. The Bills are favored by 6.5 over the 49ers this week.
The Broncos offense has looked unstoppable at times this year. Last week’s 10-31 loss to the Raiders in Denver was not one of those times.
The Packers looked helpless this week on Monday Night Football against the Saints. Not a good sign for a team fighting to win their division.
Can the Eagles rebound from everything that’s gone wrong for them this season? This week’s game against Arizona should tell us a lot.
