Odds to Win 2008 NFL MVP
If you like NFL betting on individual awards then you’ll definitely want to check out the odds to win the NFL MVP for the upcoming 2007-08 season. The favorites have been established as LaDanian Tomlinson, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Larry Johnson. With Johnson’s holdout and the fact that he had so many carries a year ago we are going to write him off pretty quickly. You have to think the majority of people will be taking LT, but with the season he had a year ago it will be tough to duplicate those accomplishments, and the Chargers are going to look to get more balanced so they can take teams in the post-season. Tom Brady will have all kinds of weapons for the first time in his career, but the expectations are maybe a little too high on what he is supposed to do with them.
If doesn’t matter if you are betting on the MVP Award or on real games, as we say when we make our NFL picks we are looking for value. Carson Palmer has been putting up great numbers and is ready for a break out year, when you get more than 10/1 on a guy like that it’s worth a look. How about Reggie Bush, who reminded us of LT the way he could both run and catch out of the backfield this year. With a season in the NFL under his belt we are expecting great things out of him, and with the Saints being one of the favorites to make it to the Super Bowl he’s going to be getting a lot of media attention. Another name to watch out for is Steven Jackson. He had a great year statistically a year ago, and the Rams are a team that could potentially sneak up on people. If St. Louis has a breakout year then this guy should get a lot of credit, and that credit could lead to a little hardware at the end of the year.
