NBA Odds: Portland Trailblazers at Miami Heat

The Miami Heat have yet to lose a home game all year but will have to hold off a hot Portland Trailblazers team that has won three straight if they want to keep that streak in tact on Wednesday night. Both of these teams come into the contest at 4-3 SU and will have a chance to show their stuff live on ESPN at 8 PM EST. Check out our NBA lines page to see what the spread will be as the odds on this game will be posted later in the day.
The Heat are coming off a 99-94 win over the Nets on Monday where they shot 44% from 3-point range and forced New Jersey into 19 turnovers. Dwyane Wade put up 33 points to lead the Heat in scoring but Miami couldn’t cover the spread as an 8.5-point home favorite. The team played over the 190-point total as well. One of the reasons this game doesn’t have a line is the injuries to Shawn Marion, Shaun Livingston, and Marcus Banks. All three players are listed as day-to-day so as more information comes out to their availability the odds will go up.
A lot of pundits are doubting Portland even after the team won three straight games without their center, Greg Oden. With Oden on the bench for anywhere from two-to-four week it’s been up to Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge. Roy scored 27 on Monday night to lift Portland to a 106-99 win over the Orlando Magic. Roy and Aldridge have stepped up their scoring to combine for almost 40 points per game without their big man. The problem that the Blazers are having through is that they are giving up 101.2 points per game in their four road contests. Opponents are shooting almost 50% from outside the arc, which has led this team to go OVER the posted total in three of four on the road. Brandon Roy scored 27 points to lift the Trail Blazers over the Magic 106-99 on Monday night.
These two teams have split their last four games both SU and ATS with the OVER cashing in at a 2-1-1 mark.
Some trends to consider for this game: Portland is 5-2 ATS & SU in their last seven games visiting the Heat. Miami is 4-2 ATS and 5-1 SU in their last six home games. The OVER is 5-1 in Portland’s last six games and the UNDER is 8-3 in the Blazers last 11 on the road. The Heat have gone UNDER in five of their last six games overall and seven of their last nine at home.
Both of these teams will be back in action on Friday when the Blazers head to New Orleans and the Heat host the Washington Wizards.
