Oakland Raiders at Miami Dolphins Odds
The Oakland Raiders (7-4) will be gunning for a fourth straight victory when they visit the Miami Dolphins (3-8) in Week 13.
Odds makers believe the Raiders’ winning streak could come to an end Sunday.
The Dolphins are currently a three-point favorite with the total set at 42.5.
The Raiders stayed a game ahead of the Denver Broncos for first place in the AFC West with a 25-20 home win over the Chicago Bears. Sebastian Janikowski accounted for 19 of those points, making all six of his field goal attempts and his lone extra-point attempt.
Carson Palmer completed 21 of 37 passes for 301 yards with an interception. Five of his completions went to Marcel Reece, who led the team with 92 receiving yards.
Michael Bush led the way on the ground with 69 yards and a score on 24 carries.
The Dolphins saw their three-game win streak come to an end on Thanksgiving with a 20-19 loss at Dallas.
Matt Moore continued his solid play, completing 19 of 32 passes for 288 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions. Five of those completions, including the touchdown toss, went to Brandon Marshall, who led the team with 103 receiving yards.
Reggie Bush led the ground attack with 61 yards on 16 totes.
The Oakland defense is struggling. It allowed 401 yards of offense last week but was bailed out by three Chicago turnovers.
The Raiders enter Week 13 ranked 28th in total defense with 374.4 yards allowed per contest and 26th in scoring defense with 24.9 yards allowed per game. If the defense isn’t able to tighten the screws, it may have to force more turnovers to get past Miami this week.
The Raiders have a plus-six turnover margin during their winning streak, but Miami may not do them many favors. The Dolphins have committed one or no turnovers in five of their last six games.
Miami’s run defense has the been the key to its recent success. The Dolphins have limited their last four opponents to an average of 75.8 rushing yards. Their run defense will be tested this week, however, by an Oakland offense currently ranked fourth in the NFL in rushing with 149.2 yards per game.
The Dolphins have won five of the last six meetings with the most recent being a 33-17 win in Oakland on Nov. 28, 2010. They might not fare as well at home, however, as they are just 9-21 against the spread in home games under coach Tony Sparano.
The Dolphins have covered the spread in their last two home games and five straight games overall.
The Raiders have covered the number in three straight and are 8-3 against the spread on the season.
In regard to the total, the under just might be the play. The Dolphins have come in under the number in each of their last 10 games.
