St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks Odds
The St. Louis Rams (2-10) will try to avoid a fourth straight loss when they visit the Seattle Seahawks (5-7) Monday night.
There is currently no line for this game as odds makers wait to see who will be under center for the Rams.
St. Louis was skunked 26-0 in San Francisco last Sunday.
Filling in for an injured Sam Bradford, A.J. Feeley completed 12 of 22 passes for 156 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. Four completions went to Brandon Gibson, who led the team with 42 receiving yards.
Steven Jackson and Jerious Norwood each managed only 19 rushing yards against the 49ers’ top-ranked run defense.
The Seahawks won for the third time in four games with a 31-14 home victory over the Philadelphia Eagles last Thursday.
Tarvaris Jackson connected on 13 of 16 pass attempts for 190 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. Two passes found the hands of Zach Miller, who led the team with 53 receiving yards.
Golden Tate hauled in the touchdown pass.
Marshawn Lynch led the way on the ground with 148 yards and two scores on 22 carries.
Feeley suffered a small fracture in his right thumb last week and likely won’t be available. Bradford still might not be able to go after suffering a high ankle sprain during a 23-20 loss to Arizona on Nov. 27.
If neither are able to go, the Rams are expected to give Tom Brandstater his first career NFL start.
The former Fresno State star was selected 174th overall in the 2009 draft and is yet to take an NFL snap.
It won’t matter who’s under center for the Rams if the defense doesn’t show up.
St. Louis enters Week 14 ranked dead last in the NFL against the run with 157.8 yards allowed per game. The Rams’ run defense figures to get a major test Monday as Seattle has averaged 141 rushing yards over its last five games.
Stopping the run has long been an issue for the Rams in this series. They have lost 12 of the last 13 meetings, including six in a row on the road by an average of 17.6 points, and have allowed an average of 164.5 rushing yards in those road defeats.
The Rams gave up 126 yards on the ground in a 24-7 loss at home in the season’s first meeting.
St. Louis is 1-8 against the spread in the last 9 in this series and 0-4 against the spread in the last four in Seattle.
In regard to the total, the under has been the play. The under is 4-1-1 in the last six meetings and 5-2 in the last seven in Seattle.
