The 4-5 San Francisco 49ers take on the 5-4 Green Bay Packers this Sunday at legendary Lambeau Field in a Week 11 NFC battle. Last week, the 49ers intercepted Jay Cutler five times on their way to defeating the Chicago Bears 10-6. The Packers finally showed what their defense is capable of by holding down the Dallas offense in a 17-7 win. These two teams have not met since the 2006 season when the Packers defeated the 49ers 30-19. That win was Green Bay’s sixth in a row in the head-to-head series. NFL odds makers have Green Bay making it seven straight Sunday, listing the Packers as 6.5-point favorites with the total set at 42.

Alex Smith was selected before Aaron Rodgers in the 2005 draft. Now it’s his chance to show that he was deserving of being taken so high. A difficult challenge presents itself as Smith faces one of the NFL’s elite passing defenses, led by veteran cornerbacks Charles Woodson and Al Harris. The Packers rank fourth in the league with 13 interceptions and eighth in pass defense.
