NFL Picks: Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys will need leader Tony Romo to be Mr. clutch and score a win over the Seattle Seahawks to stay in the NFC playoff race. The maligned Seahawks (2-9) could find traveling to Texas a tall task against Romo and the surging Cowboys (7-4). Dallas seems to have their swagger back after consecutive wins with Tony Romo under center. The Seahawks have not benefited nearly as well with the return of their leader QB Matt Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck has looked out of sync since his return 2 games ago. Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren is not trying to go out on such a poor note in his last season but can he stop the bleeding? The NFL betting odds for the Seattle Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys game is Dallas -12.5 on the SPREAD.
Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck (54.9 passer rating) is not 100% healthy and his throws have been limited. If Hasselbeck can get the ball downfield his wideouts could get open against Dallas’s sometimes spotty coverage. Rookie TE John Carlson (32 rec 351 yds 3 TD) is having a nice season and could be a key weapon for Hasselbeck. The Seahawks offense will need the 1-2 running punch of Maurice Morris and Julius Jones to come up big on the road. If Matt Hasselbeck has to pass in third and long situations he could get pelted by Dallas OLB DeMarcus Ware (12.0 sacks). Julius Jones (4.40 40-speed) will be playing for pride against his former team. Morris (4.45) ran wild last week for 100+ yards but he will be met by a motivated Dallas 3-4 defense. The Cowboys held All-Pro RB Frank Gore to just 26 yards rushing last week. The NFL betting OVER\UNDER for the Seattle Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys game is at 47 points.
Dallas QB Tony Romo (101.5 passer rating) seems to be almost 100% over his hand injury. Romo had this to say about his pinkie: “I can definitely put (the ball) where I want to on the field. It’s just a matter of, with the splint on, every once in a blue moon, it’ll pop up and affect the throw a little bit. But other than that, it’s been good.” Romo has a fleet of weapons at his disposal that he knows how to use. Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garret is sharp mind that has some nice chess pieces to play with. Marion “The Barbarian” Barber will be happy to engage in a running back duel against Julius Jones. Barber (400+ bench-press) makes Dallas equally as dangerous through the air or on the ground. Last week Dallas WR Terrell Owens (425+ bench-Press) was perfectly in sync with his quarterback. Dallas has a beefy O-line that could muscle around the Seahawks smaller front. Seattle is 22nd in the NFL against the rush and 26th at blitz efficiency. If your NFL football picks are straight up then the MONEYLINE for the Seattle Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys game is Dallas -750 to -800.
The Dallas Cowboys should be motivated to play in front of a TV audience in an important game. Seattle will need to put pressure on Romo or their secondary could get torched. Dallas has proven to be strong late in the season going 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games. The Seahawks will have to overcome making a long flight on a short week and play hard to upset the odds. Seattle RB Julius Jones will be playing with a vengence against a team that showed little respect for him.
