2008 NFL Playoff OddsSeattle Seahawks v. Green Bay Packers OddsIt seems like the Seattle Seahawks v. Green Bay Packers odds are showing no love for Matt Hasselbeck and Mike Holmgren as they make another return to Lambeau Field in the playoffs. It seems like Seattle though went under the radar all season long and the Packers have been a huge favorite for NFL betting this year the way they have covered the spread week after week. We have provided a short writeup below to help you break down the line and come away with who you think is going to win the game, but if you really want to beat the NFL odds over the course of the playoffs you should sign up for Jimmy Boyd's premium NFL picks. There isn't anyone who puts in more time during the week going over matchups, and the results are more profits for our clients. Sign up today and finish the season a winner.
Seattle is 11-6 SU and 10-6-1 ATS this year. The team is averaging 24.6 points per game (ppg) on 247.8 passing yards per game (ypg) and 101.2 rushing ypg. This year has been the season that Shaun Alexander has kind of taken a back seat to Hasselbeck in terms of offensive production, but Seattle is going to need Alexander to do a little better job against the Packers this week then he did against the Washington Redskins in the first round. Seattle managed only 77 rushing yards in round one, and when Hasselbeck threw his second pick of the day it looked like the Seahawks were in trouble. However, Hasselbeck showed why an experienced, seasoned quarterback is so useful in the playoffs as he guided his team back to victory. Defensively the Seahawks are no slouches as they allow only 18.2 ppg on 219.1 passing ypg and 102.8 rushign ypg. The pass defense is going to get some extra work this weekend when Brett Favre and company play host to Seattle. It seems like Favre is as sharp as ever for Green Bay this season. He threw for 4,155 yards and 28 touchdowns in leading a potent offensive attack. Donald Driver was once again his favorite target and he amassed 82 catches for 1,048 yards, but only found the end zone twice. The ground game picked up towards the middle of the season when Ryan Grant emerged. He had 188 carries for 956 yards and eight scores. Defensively you aren't going to find much ease in moving the football against the Packers. The team averages only 18.2 ppg with 210.2 ypg through the air and 103.1 ypg on the ground. Everyone remembers Hasselbeck and Holmgren returning to Lambeau for the playoffs back in January of 2004, when the Seattle quarterback proudly claimed that they wanted the ball and they were going to score. However, it was Green Bay who got the last laugh as the Packers intercepted Hasselbeck and returned it for a touchdown, sending Green Bay to the next round while Seattle ended their season. Interesting Trends: Seattle is 7-2 ATS in their last nine games. Green Bay is 8-2 ATS in their last ten games. Odds: Seattle Seahawks
