South Florida at Cincinnati Football Odds & Picks

Both the South Florida Bulls and the Cincinnati Bearcats are coming off defeats in Big East play and will be looking to get back on track when they meet in a Thursday night battle this week. Odds makers have made South Florida the early 2.5-point favorite.
After starting the non-conference season 4-0, the Bulls have lost two of their first three games in Big East play which leaves them with plenty of work to do to have a chance at the title. USF has been as high as No. 10 in the rankings, but like last season, the national attention has appeared to be a thorn in the side of this team.
The Bulls were plagued by penalties against Louisville last week, committing 14 for 109 yards of damage.
QB Matt Grothe continues to carry the load of offense. He racked up 344 passing yards despite being sacked five times and despite the running game only gaining eight yards on the ground.
The Bulls can blame last week’s loss on a lot of things, but if they get touchdowns instead of field goals on two drives inside the Louisville 20-yard line, they win the game.
The offensive line needs to do a better job of protecting Grothe this week and the Bulls need to take full advantage of their opportunities. I think South Florida has the ability to hurt the Bearcats through the air Thursday night with wide receivers Jessie Hester Jr. and Taurus Johnson. Hester Jr. had eight grabs last week for 74 yards and appears to be gaining confidence. Johnson hd six grabs for 94 yards and is averaging 16 yards per catch. If you think the Bulls can bounce back this week, bet South Florida at -2.5 at BetUS.
The Bearcats stuck right with UConn until the fourth quarter in last Saturday’s loss as the Huskies erupted for 20 points in the final quarter en route to a 40-16 win.
The Bearcats had won four straight and got QB Tony Pike back prior to last week’s contest. But Pike lasted only one half against UConn before being relieved by Chazz Anderson. Pike left due to numbness in his left hand, likely related to the broken arm injury that has been keeping him out.
Cincy is very capable of beating the Bulls this week, but it is going to have to be much better on third down. The Bearcats were 0-for-14 on third downs against UConn. They are also going to need to get something out of the running game. The running game was instrumental in Cincy’s four-game winning streak but disappeared against the Huskies as UConn allowed only 30 yards on the ground. And last but not least, the Bearcats need to get better at ball security. They lost three of six fumbles in last week’s game.
The college football odds makers feel this one is going to go right down to the wire so kicker Jake Rogers could be a key player in this game. Rogers connected on three field goal last week, including a 54-yarder. He is now 8-for-8 on field goals. If you think the Bearcats will bounce back strong from last week’s terrible loss, bet Cincinnati at BetUS and receive up to a 50% sign up bonus.
If you haven’t had much success with your NCAA football betting this season, then you have come to the right place. Jimmy Boyd has been kicking the books all season long with his football picks, going 7-2 on the college gridiron in week 9 and cashing in profitable college football cards on seven of the first nine Saturday’s this season.
