Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans NFL Betting Odds & Picks

The Pittsburgh Steelers captured the AFC North crown with a win over hated-rival Baltimore last Sunday. Wide receiver Santonio Holmes caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from QB Ben Roethlisberger with 43 seconds left and the Steelers clinched their second straight division title to earn a first-round bye in the playoffs. While the Tennessee Titans have already clinched the AFC South and a first-round bye of their own, they cannot be happy about last Sunday’s 13-12 loss to division rival Houston. With a win and a Pittsburgh loss, the Titans could have clinched home field throughout the postseason. Now this matchup takes on a whole new meaning. NFL odds makers have listed the Titans as 1-point favorites with the total set at 34.5.
Doing your NFL betting on the Tennessee Titans this season has been a gold mine. The Titans are 12-2 on the season and 11-2-1 against the spread. They are 6-1 in home games and 5-1-1 against the spread. While we heard plenty about the Steelers No. 1 ranked defense last week in the build up for its showdown with the Ravens, we cannot overlook how good the Titans have been defensively this season. Tennessee is allowing only 14.1 points per game and 281 totals yards per game. The Titans will face a Steelers offense which has really been struggling as well behind a suspect offensive line. The Steelers have been held under 100 yards on the ground in each of their last two games against the Cowboys and the Ravens, but they were able to come out with wins thanks to the defense. Sooner or later, this offense is going to have to come out of its shell or it will face the consequences. Big Ben Roethlisberger has not been himself either as he has battled injuries throughout the year. If you think Tennessee is still the team to beat in the AFC, bet the Titans at BetUS.
NFL picks on the Steelers have been a great play on the road this season as Pittsburgh is 6-1 straight up and 5-2 against the spread away from home. Pittsburgh’s No. 1 ranked defense has tightened the screws on the road, allowing opponents only 11 points per game and 226 total yards. The Steelers will face one of the most dynamic running back duos in the league this week and I expect them to be hungry following a sub par performance against the Texans. Chris Johnson and LenDale White have combined for 1,859 yards and 22 rushing touchdowns this season. The duo was held to only 91 yards against the Texans after combining for well over 200 in each of their previous two games. It will be up to the Steelers to shut down the Titans strong running game or they could be in for a long day. If anyone will be up for the challenge, it will be the NFL’s best defense. Pittsburgh will have plenty of momentum in its favor as well, having rattled off five straight wins (4-1 ATS) coming into this one. The Steelers pass rush could be another key factor as veteran Titans QB Kerry Collins is not very mobile in the pocket. He has made good decisions, for the most part, and has been able to keep teams off balance just enough to let the running game succeed. If you think Pittsburgh’s defense will do the job again, bet the Steelers at +1 at BetUS.
