Super Bowl Coaches

The person who takes the most heat on a football team
over losses is the head coach. Often times they are made
the scapegoats on down and out teams, but Super Bowl
coaches are the elite and have reached football’s
pinnacle for a reason.
Super Bowl coaches are undoubtedly elite football minds
and motivators. These coaches have reached the big game
for a reason and it’s not always because they have the
most talented team. They are the most important leaders
on the football field, trusted beyond all others. The
coaches who have reached the
Super Bowl have all earned the unwavering respect of
their players.
Those which have been to the big game and won as a
player often have an edge when they reach the game as a
coach because they know what the biggest of stages is
really all about. Mike Ditka, Tom Flores, and Tony Dungy
have all won Super Bowls as both players and coaches.
With Belichick and Coughlin both knowing what Super Bowl
pressure is all about, having each coached in the big
game, I expect both will have their teams ready. With
many of Belichick’s guys having already won Super Bowls,
he won’t have to do nearly as good of a job preparing
his players as Coughlin, who brings many fresh faces to
the game.
Bill Belichick has won four Super Bowls as head coach of
the Patriots. He has quite an edge on Tom Coughlin in
terms of Super Bowl success, but many forget that Tom
Coughlin was an assistant coach on the Giants Super Bowl
Championship team coached by Bill Parcells in Super Bowl
XXV.

Will the Patriots continue their dynasty with a win in
Super Bowl XLII or will the Giants perhaps be embarking
on one, earning their third Super Bowl win to solidify
themselves among the NFL’s greatest franchises?
Whichever team wins, you can bet that the head man had a
lot to do with it.
