Super Bowl Odds: Kurt Warner Props
Kurt Warner has been here before, leading the Rams to a victory in Super Bowl XXXIV while collecting Super Bowl MVP honors. In Super Bowl XXXVI, Warner threw for 365 yards and a passing touchdown along with two interceptions and one rushing score. Kurt Warner – Total Passing Yards – Over 259.5 (-115)/Under 259.5 (-115)
It may surprise you, but I’m taking the under here as Warner’s passing yards have gone down recently because of Arizona’s desire to run the football more. Plus, he is facing the NFL’s No. 1 ranked passing defense. He has been under this mark in each of Arizona’s last 3 road games, including a second round playoff game at Carolina when he threw for only 220 yards. Kurt Warner – Total Completions – Over 23.5 (-125)/Under 23.5 (-105)
Warner averaged over 25 completions per game during the regular season but has not completed more than 21 in a game this postseason. Lots of heat by the Steelers and making running the football more of a priority means less than 23 completions in this one. Bet Kurt Warner Under 23.5 completions in Super Bowl XLIII.
Kurt Warner – Total Pass Attempts – Over 39.5 (-115)/Under 39.5 (-115)
I have this one going under as well as Warner averaged only 37.4 passing attempts during the regular season and the most he has attempted in the playoffs is 32. Odds maker are looking to steal one here with those taking the over. Bet Kurt Warner Under 39.5 attempts is Super Bowl XLIII.
Kurt Warner – Longest Completion – Over 39.5 (-115)/Under 39.5 (-115)
I like the over here. Fitzgerald, Boldin, and Breaston are all so good that one of them is going to get loose at some point. It’s not uncommon for Arizona to have multiple plays of longer than this yardage in a game. Whether to get ahead or to fight from behind the Cards will need some big plays. Kurt Warner – Total Touchdown Passes Thrown – Over 1.5 (-150)/Under 1.5 (+120)
It will be the big public play to take the over but I think it’s the right call to make as Warner likely throws 2 TD passes in this game. Warner has thrown at least 2 in all three playoff games. Bet Kurt Warner Over 1.5 touchdown passes in Super Bowl XLIII.
Kurt Warner – What Will He Throw First – Touchdown Pass -145/Interception +115
Warner has twice as many TD passes as picks this season and he has been extremely safe with the football in the most season, but there are nerves in the Super Bowl and Pitt’s defense may take him a few possessions to get used. Warner likely throws an early pick and then settles down. Bet Kurt Warner to throw an Interception first in Super Bowl XLIII.
Kurt Warner – Will he Throw a 1st Half Touchdown Pass – Yes -150/No +120
I think Warner will throw a TD pass in each half. You can talk about the 2 week lay off affecting timing and the Steelers defense, but they also have to adjust to Arizona’s high powered offense. Bet Kurt Warner to throw a first half TD pass in Super Bowl XLIII.
Kurt Warner – Will he Throw a 3rd Quarter Touchdown Pass – Yes +175/No -225
The long Super Bowl half time has been known to produce sluggish third quarters. Plus the Steelers defense will come out having made all of their defensive adjustments and it will take Arizona a while to get back up to speed. Bet Kurt Warner not to throw a third quarter TD in Super Bowl XLIII.
Kurt Warner – Will Have More Passing Yards In Which Half – First Half +125/Second Half (Includes Overtime) -155
I have to go with the first half and the value. Arizona’s best opportunity to win will be to jump on Pitt early before they can settle in and that is what they will try to do. Bet Kurt Warner to have more passing yards in first half in Super Bowl XLIII.
