Super Bowl Predictions for Tom Brady

Tom Brady is without a doubt the most popular football player in the Super Bowl. He is coming off the best season any QB in NFL history has ever had, throwing a league record 50 touchdown passes. It is also no secret that the league MVP has a stellar 14-2 record in the postseason. If the Giants are able to win Super Bowl XLII, it won’t be because this guy didn’t do his part. Let’s take a closer look at how we feel Mr. Brady will do in the big game with these Tom Brady Super Bowl predictions on the props listed at Bodog Sportsbook.

Total Pass Attempts -- Over/Under 37.5

Brady through the football 42 times in the Patriots week 17 game against the G-men. He has thrown the ball just 28 and 33 times in the Pats two playoff wins, but with this game in a warm weather climate, we expect Brady to be airing it out early and often. Bet the Over.

Total Pass Completions – Over/Under 25.5
Brady completed an incredible 68.9% of his passes this season. The guy is the most accurate passer in the game right now. All oddsmakers have done to set this line is multiply his season completion percentage by the attempts number. Brady has only gone over this number of completions 7 times this season. He’ll be good, but 68.9% is not likely. Take the under.

Total Passing Yards – Over/Under 300.5
It’s difficult to play your very best game on the biggest of stages, even if you have been there and done that like Brady. Brady torched the G-men for 346 yards in the first meeting and they will definitely make some adjustments to do a better job. He has thrown for over 301 yards just one time in the past five games and just 8 times all season. That’s 10 games where he hasn’t. We’ll play the percentages and take the Under.

Total Rushing Yards – Over/Under 2
No beating around the bush here, I like the Over. I know there’s been all the talk about Brady’s ankle, but it won’t affect this competitor’s will to win. If Brady needs to take off on a scramble to get a first down, he won’t hesitate. Also, the Pats don’t shy away from using the QB sneak in short yardage situations. Brady should embarrass this number.

First Pass of the game will be?
Complete 1/3
Incomplete 11/5
Throw an Interception 12/1

I have to go with complete here, even though it doesn’t show the kind of value I like to see. Brady especially takes what the defense gives him early in games to get himself in a rhythm. He’s not going to force any throws in the first couple possessions and this guy is too accurate to miss open guys. I like the first one to be completed.

What will happen first for Tom Brady?
Throw a TD Pass -350
Throw an Interception +275

Odds are terrible here, but with as few interceptions as Brady has thrown this season, you’d have to be crazy to take the INTs here.

Longest Completion – Over/Under 47.5
After Moss burnt the Giants for a long one in that week 17 showdown, Coughlin will be saying that the Pats will complete a bomb over his dead body. Yeah, Moss could get loose again, but we know the Giants will be trying to take away the big play that the Pats have thrived on for much of the season so we have to play the Under knowing that. Plus, 47.5 is a big gainer. That number seems a little high.

Will Tom Brady throw an interception?
Yes +115
No -145

Brady threw 3 interceptions in the AFC title game so we anticipate that he will take much better care of the ball in the Super Bowl. With that being said, the Super Bowl is a different animal. Also, Brady’s ankle could affect his accuracy to some extent. We feel the Giants secondary will get him one time.

Total Passing Yards will be an
Odd Number -105
Even Number -105
Flip a coin in you’re going to bet this one. For what it’s worth, 11 games during the regular season resulted in a yardage number that was an odd number.
