Taylor Spinks Odds

The Taylor Spinks odds are now posted for the upcoming fight on Saturday, May 19th at 10:15 PM EST live from the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. Jermain Taylor comes into this matchup with a 26-0-1 record with 17 of those victories by knock out and he will be fighting out of Little Rock, Arkansas. Cory Spinks comes out of St. Louis, Missouri and is 36-3 with 11 knockout victories. Taylor is making his fourth title defense and will be facing a champ or former champ for his fifth straight fight. Spinks is moving up to middleweight to challenge for the title after holding belts in both welterweight and junior middleweight divisions.

Taylor was touted as the heir apparent for Bernard Hopkins before beating the former champ in two straight battles. The first occurred back in July of 2005 and Taylor won in a highly contested split decision. He came back in December of that same year though and satisfied most fight fans with a convincing win. He has since maintained his title due to a draw decision against Winky Wright. Wright had a rematch lined up, but pulled out so Taylor instead fought and beat Kassim Ouma in December of last year.

Spinks is the current junior middleweight champion who is the son of former world heavyweight champ Leon Spinks and the nephew of former light-heavyweight and heavyweight champion Michael Spinks. He is a south-paw who is known for keeping his opponents active and wearing them down. He has great handspeed and mobility and outworks most of his opponents. Spinks got a name for himself after a couple of battles with Zab Judah in which he won in a close decision before getting TKO’d and losing his welterweight title.
