Tennis odds when it comes to futures wagers work like every other sport, there will be a number like 10/1.  These means that you will have to wager $1 to win $10.  You can bet on any denomination between the minimum and maximum wager accepted by the book.  Of course if you want to know how tennis odds work for head-to-head matchups it's very similar to baseball and hockey in that the odds maker uses a money line.  You'll see something like this:

Player A -135
Players B +115

If you want to bet on player A then you'll have to bet $1.35 to win $1.  If player A wins then you collect your winnings, but if Player B wins then you lose.  If you want to bet on Player B then you have to bet $1 to win $1.15.  This is popular among professional gamblers because you don't have to risk as much as you could possibly win.
