Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts NFL Lines & Picks

While the Tennessee Titans locked up the AFC’s No. 1 playoff seed, which gives them home field throughout, odds makers do not expect the Titans to call off the dogs against rival Indianapolis in Week 17. Odds makers have listed the Tennessee Titans as 3-point favorites with the total set at 38.
Last season, the Titans needed a win over Indianapolis in their regular season finale to get into the playoffs. This time around they are in a much more comfortable position, but all indications are that they do not want to coast in the playoffs, giving a free ride to a red hot Colts team they may have to face in divisional round.
The 13-2 Titans rattled off 21 unanswered points to bury the Steelers 31-14 last Sunday to put an exclamation point on a spectacular season. Head coach Jeff Fisher will not take a cue from the Colts this week. Last season, the Titans defeated the Colts 16-10 in Week 17 to advance to the playoffs while Indy rested several key players. Fisher has said that he plans on playing most of his starters. A win over the Colts would give the Titans the NFL’s best record and it would also set a franchise record for wins in a season. Veteran QB Kerry Collins, who threw for 216 yards and a touchdown against the Steelers last week, has expressed that he wants to play so that he doesn’t form to much rust between now and when the Titans will next play in the second round of the playoffs. Collins passed for 193 yards in Tennessee’s 31-21 win over the Colts back on October 27th. Vince Young fans will be excited this week, however, as he is expected to see the playing field for the first time since November 27th. Young completed 14 of 18 for 157 yards against the Colts in the 2007 finale before aggravating his right quadriceps and being replaced by Collins. You will not see Pro Bowl defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth or defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch who are sidelined with injuries for the second straight week. Center Kevin Mawae is listed as questionable. This has not worried NFL odds makers as the Titans put their depth on display last week. Rookie Jason Jones filled in for Haynesworth and exploded for 3.5 of Tennessee’s five sacks. Since losing to Tennessee, future Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning has led the Colts to eight straight wins. The run has helped the Colts advance to the playoffs for the seventh straight year. Manning was near perfect last week, completing his first 17 passes to bring the Colts back from 14-0 and 24-14 deficits to clinch a playoff spot. The win also set an NFL record as the Colts third after trailing by 14 or more points. Manning was 29 of 34 for a season-high 364 yards and three touchdowns against Jacksonville. He has throw now 26 touchdown strikes this season, setting an NFL mark with 11 straight seasons or 25 or more. Manning is also only 93 yards away from hitting the 4,000 yard mark in a season for a record ninth time. The Colts already have the No. 5 seed clinched in the AFC playoffs and that will lead head coach Tony Dungy to rest several players, which will likely include wide receiver Marvin Harrison and running back Joseph Addai on the offense. The Colts will face either San Diego or Denver in the opening road of the playoffs. If you like Indy to have its revenge over the Titans, bet the Colts at +3 at BetUS.
