Memphis has underachieved in the early going with losses against Marshall and Rice. The Tigers are a much better football team than they have shown and we are starting to see that off a pair of solid wins the past two weeks. UAB was expected to finish at or near the bottom of the Conference USA East standings and that’s the type of team it has looked like in the early going. Memphis took it to UAB 25-9 last season and I think the more talented Tigers will be at least a touchdown better in 2008. Memphis is 12-3 ATS when the total is between 56.5 and 63 since 1992 so when odds makers are expecting some points to go up on the board Memphis is covering. A very key start is that the UAB Blazers are just 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 home games. We’ll fade this team at home again tonight.
