UFC 70 Betting Odds

On Saturday, April 17th 2007 you can get your action in on these UFC 70 betting odds, but you are going to have to wait until that night in order to see the event with a tape delay on Spike.  Te good news is that it is going to be free, the bad news is that I can't wait until the televised event before looking up the results online.  Here is a list of some of the guys fighting, and also a few predictions on how we think the outcome is going to turn out.

Odds from Betus:

Gabriel Gonzaga +350
Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic -500

Our take: Mirko is the leading choice to take down the heavyweight division.  The problem is that even people who watch only a little of the UFC know this.  These public favorites are always scary, especially when you are laying as much juice as you would on Mirko. There is a lot of talk about how Mirko is focusing on this fight and not looking ahead, and with his Eastern Europe background that kind of dedication seems right on.  Still our best opinion is a no-play, but take the underdog if you really want some action.  Last event when St. Pierre went down should show you how unpredictable this sport is.

Andrei Arlovski -115
Fabricio Werdum -115

Our take: How the mighty have fallen.  Arlovski was one of the tops in the division and seemed unbeatable only a year ago, now he's struggling to stay alive at 10-5 after a pair of losses to Tim Silvia.  Werdum will want to take this fight to the mat where he can excel with his submission game. I'm going with Werdum in this one and it should be one hell of a contest, whoever can set the tone with their style should come out on top.
