Vikings will Wait for Brett Favre’s Retirement Decision
Here we go again. Now that the Minnesota Vikings have been eliminated from the playoffs, Brett Favre has another decision to make about retirement, and we all know how difficult of a decision it’s been for Brett. Favre has hinted that he will make his call about next season sooner rather than later, but we know how that can go. Even so, Yahoo! Sports reports that the Vikings are willing to wait for Favre’s answer.
Coach Brad Childress said that he won’t give his future Hall of Fame quarterback a deadline for making his decision, explaining that the team should be able to plan for either choice Favre may make.
If Favre decides to call it a career, the Vikings will have some decisions to make. Sage Rosenfels is still under contract, but Tarvaris Jackson will be a restricted free agent if there is no new collective bargaining agreement in place between the league and the union as expected.
It appears that the Vikings may want to go in a different direction though. ESPN’s John Clayton said that Donovan McNabb would be the Vikings’ No. 1 target if Favre retires on ESPNEWS Tuesday afternoon.

Got something to say?

If Favre really has any plan of retiring, why is he still staying around to leak some information here and there? I guess he will be back anyway.
