Kansas City Chiefs +5
Atlanta Falcons -5
Total 36.5
Odds makers predicted score: Chiefs 16 Falcons 21

Prior to the season, this was supposed to be a battle of two of the NFL’s worst teams. A week one win at home against Detroit has the books thinking the Falcons will come out on top at home against another lowly team.

Oakland Raiders +9
Buffalo Bills -9
Total 37
Odds makers predicted score: Raiders 14 Bills 23

The Bills have been a big shocker to odds makers in the early going and they have already jumped on the bandwagon, installing them as nearly a double digit fave.

Houston Texans +5
Tennessee Titans -5
Total 39
Odds makers predicted score: Texans 17 Titans 22

The Titans showed no signs of slowing down with Vince Young on the shelf so the books have naturally made them the favorite at home against division rival Houston here.

Cincinnati Bengals +13
New York Giants -13
Total 42
Odds makers predicted score: Bengals 14 Giants 27

The 0-2 Bengals up against the 2-0 defending Super Bowl champs spells blowout to the odds makers.

Arizona Cardinals +3
Washington Redskins -3
Total 42
Odds makers predicted score: Cardinals 20 Redskins 23

The Cards are 2-0, but the books are remembering their road struggles from a season ago. An impressive win over the New Orleans Saints, who many have picked to win the NFC South was enough to make the Redskins field goal favorites.

Miami Dolphins +12.5
New England Patriots -12.5
Total 34.5
Odds makers predicted score: Dolphins 11 Patriots 22

Tom Brady is not under center, but that has not stopped the books from installing the Pats as double digit favorites against the Dolphins, who were crushed on the road by Arizona last week.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3
Chicago Bears -3
Total 35.5
Odds makers predicted score: Bucs 16 Bears 19

The books like the way the Bears have been playing in the early going and they don’t think Jeff Garcia’s replacement and former Bears QB Brian Griese will be able to beat them on the road.

Carolina Panthers +3.5
Minnesota Vikings -3.5
Total 37
Odds makers predicted score: Panthers 17 Vikings 20

The books feel the Vikes will finally get on the board with a win this season but they don’t think it will be easy against the 2-0 Panthers.

St Louis Rams +9.5
Seattle Seahawks -9.5
Total 44
Odds makers predicted score: Rams 17 Seahawks 27

The Rams have looked pitiful in the early going following a pair of blowout losses to the Eagles and the Giants. That has the books thinking a trip clear out west to take on the class of the division won’t be an easy one.

Detroit Lions +4
San Francisco 49ers -4
Total 46.5
Odds makers predicted score: Lions 21 49ers 25

The 49ers rebounded nicely from a week one loss to upset the Seahawks in OT last week. The Lions are 0-2 and have looked poor on defense and that has the books thinking the Niners will pull away in the end.

New Orleans Saints +5.5
Denver Broncos -5.5
Total 51
Odds makers predicted score: Saints 23 Broncos 28

The Broncos are off to a 2-0 start after a gift from the officials last week against the Chargers. The odds makers think the Broncos will ride that momentum against the Saints at home.

Pittsburgh Steelers +3
Philadelphia Eagles -3
Total 45
Odds makers predicted score: Steelers 21 Eagles 24

This looks to be the game of the week and the books are giving the Eagles the edge at home, showing that they were still impressed by Philly’s performance at Dallas despite coming away with a loss.

Jacksonville Jaguars +5.5
Indianapolis Colts -5.5
Total 41.5
Odds makers predicted score: Jags 18 Colts 23

The Colts have owned the Jags in recent history, winning 9 of the last 12 since 2002 including both last season. The books see that domination continuing here.

Cleveland Browns +2
Baltimore Ravens -2
Total 38.5
Odds makers predicted score: Browns 18 Ravens 20

The Browns have not looked like a team which won 10 games a season ago in the early going and that has the books siding with the 1-0 Ravens coming off a bye week.

Dallas Cowboys -3
Green Bay Packers +3
Total 51
Odds makers predicted score: Cowboys 27 Packers 24

With the total set at 51, odds makers are expecting the Cowboys to win a fairly high scoring game on the road as both teams have shown the ability to score the football in the early going.

Monday September 22, 2008

New York Jets +9
San Diego Chargers -9
Total 44
Odds makers predicted score: Jets 17 Chargers 26

After back-to-back defeats, the books have the Chargers favored by nearly double digits in a bounce back spot at home.
