Sunday October 26, 2008 Oakland Raiders +7 Baltimore Ravens -7 Total 36 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Raiders 14 Ravens 21 The odds makers are not sold on Oakland on the road and still have them facing a hefty number despite last week’s big win. San Diego Chargers -3 New Orleans Saints +3 Total 45 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Chargers 24 Saints 21 New Orleans’ poor early season play has not inspired enough confidence in odds makers to put them in the chalk at home. Kansas City Chiefs +13½ New York Jets -13½ Total 39 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Chiefs 13 Jets 26 The books feel the Chiefs will keep getting pounded this week as the Jets return home with revenge on their minds. Buffalo Bills -1 Miami Dolphins +1 Total 42.5 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Bills 22 Dolphins 21 Miami has gone down in consecutive weeks since beating the Patriots and Chargers in back-to-back games. Obviously, the books are expecting a solid effort from Miami this week against a team with one of the better records in the AFC based on this line. Tampa Bay Buccaneers +2½ Dallas Cowboys -2½ Total 40.5 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Bucs 19 Cowboys 21 The odds makers like the Boys to finally bounce back with a win with Tony Romo likely back in the lineup, but weren’t they favored each of the past two week as well. Atlanta Falcons +9½ Philadelphia Eagles -9½ Total 45 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Falcons 18 Eagles 27 No respect from the odds makers for the Falcons on the road ad Philly has shown the ability to score the football at home. St Louis Rams +7½ New England Patriots -7½ Total 42.5 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Rams 18 Pats 25 The Rams are starting to earn some respect from the books following a pair of wins, but they still find themselves as more than a TD underdog to the Pats on the road. Arizona Cardinals +4 Carolina Panthers -4 Total 43 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Cards 19 Panthers 23 The Cardinals have struggled on the East Coast and the Panthers have been great at home, so naturally Carolina gets the chalk. Washington Redskins -7½ Detroit Lions +7½ Total 42 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Redskins 25 Lions 17 Washington barely squeaked one out last week, but the books like the Skins’ running attack against a poor Lions defense this week. Cleveland Browns +7 Jacksonville Jaguars -7 Total 42 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Browns 17 Jags 24 Everyone is just waiting for the Browns to start clicking, but the books are telling us it isn’t going to happen this week or this year. New York Giants +3 Pittsburgh Steelers -3 Total 42 Odds Makers Predicted Score: G-Men 19 Steelers 22 This looks to be the best matchup of the weekend in what could be a Super Bowl preview. New York has been strong on the road the past couple season, but its play against the AFC this season has the books looking at Pittsburgh at home. Seattle Seahawks +5 San Francisco 49ers -5 Total 40.5 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Seahawks 18 49ers 23 Odds makers say Seattle needs to pass the torch right now. Cincinnati Bengals +9 Houston Texans -9 Total 44.5 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Bengals 18 Texans 27 Texans continue to get mondo respect at home as the best bad team in football. This shows you exactly how pathetic the books think Cincy is. Monday October 27, 2008 Indianapolis Colts +4 Tennessee Titans -4 Total 41 Odds Makers Predicted Score: Colts 18 Titans 22 Odds makers like the Titans to remain undefeated by surviving the Colts on Monday Night Football.
