Week 13 NFL Betting Recap

The favorites where hot against with NFL betting for week 13 of the season as they hit in eight of the 14 games.  There was a lot of scoring this weekend as well with nine of the 14 contests being played over the posted total.  If you struggled this week then you might want to think about picking up Jimmy Boyd's NFL picks package for next week, since he once again profited over the sportsbooks in this week's action.

Atlanta Falcons at St. Louis Rams (-3, 40): Final score Rams 28, Falcons 16
Gus Frerotte really played well for St. Louis in this one with more than 300 yards passing and three touchdowns.  The Rams have been hot lately covering the number in three of their last four, while Falcons backers are going broke after Atlanta failed to cover in their last three.

Buffalo Bills at Washington Redskins (-5.5, 37): Final score Bills 17, Redskins 16
The Redskins weren't able to play at top form for the entire game, understandably due to the drain of losing their starting safety Sean Taylor earlier in the week.  Ryan Lindell kicked a game winning field goal for the Bills with four seconds left to score a win for Buffalo.

Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings (-5.5, 44): Final score Vikings 42, Lions 10 (Jimmy Boyd's easy 5* winner)
Two teams heading in different directions as Minnesota has cashed in three straight while the Lions have cost their backers in four straight games.  The Vikings have a winner in Adrien Peterson, who ran for 116 yards and two scores as Minnesota makes a playoff surge.

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans (-3.5, 40): Final score Titans 28, Texans 20
The score went over the total due to the 31-point burst these two teams had in the second half.  Houston is most likely out of the playoff picture while Tennessee kept theirs alive.  The Titans had lost three straight before downing the Texans.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts (-6.5, 45) Final score Colts 28, Jags 25
The Jags got the backdoor cover here, but with the loss Indy pretty much wraps up the AFC South.  Jacksonville has now won for their bettors in eight of their last ten games, while the Colts continue to disappointment in losing money for bettors for the third time in four games.

NY Jets at Miami Dolphins (-1.5, 37) Final score Jets 40, Dolphins 13
It's going to be intense over the next four weeks if Miami wants to prevent going 0-16.  The Dolphins have only covered three times in 12 games and this one got ugly due to numerous turnovers.

San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs (+6, 37) : Final score Chargers 24, Chiefs 10
The Chargers now have a two game lead over Denver in the AFC West and appear to be back on track.  LaDanian Tomlinson put two scores on the board, but with only 14 points in the second half the teams stayed under the posted total.

Seattle Seahawks at Philadelphia Eagles (-3, 40.5) : Seahawks 28, Eagles 24
The Eagles couldn't build on last week's performance against the Pats, and AJ Feeley quieted down some of those fanatics that were calling for him to replace Donovan McNabb.  Seattle has now covered and won their last four games, and will almost certainly be in the playoffs at the end of the year while Philly will be watching from home.

San Francisco 49ers at Carolina Panthers (-3, 35.5) Final score: Panthers 31, 49ers 14
Carolina stops their five game losing streak against what has become one of the worst teams in the NFL.  What happened to that 49er team that everyone thought was going to be a force in the playoffs?

Denver Broncos at Oakland Raiders (+3.5, 41.5) Final score: Raiders 34, Broncos 20
Denver just doesn't want to make the playoffs.  A week after blowing their game against the Bears they lose to the Raiders to fall further out of the picture.  Denver has only covered one time in six games as a favorite, and the Raiders's Justin Fargas puts up another big day with 146 yards.

Cleveland Browns at Arizona Cardinals (-1, 52.5) Final: Cardinals 27, Browns 21
A helpful call at the end of the game kept Kellon Winslow out of the endzone and out of the win column Sunday.  It was the first time Cleveland didn't cover the number since week 5 while Arizona improved to 8-4 against the spread (ATS) on the season.

New York Giants at Chicago Bears (+1.5, 39.5) Final: Giants 21, Bears 16
Eli Manning decided to play the 4th quarter as they rallied from nine back in the last seven minutes.  The Giants pretty much assured themselves a Wild Card spot while the Bears almost assured themselves they'll be missing out on the playoffs this year.

Tampa Bay Bucs at New Orleans Saints (-4.5, 41.5) Final: Bucs 27, Saints 23
Even without Jeff Garcia in the lineup yet again, Tampa still moved the ball through the air with Luke McCown.  McCown led the Bucs on a game winning drive after a Reggie Bush fumble in the closing minutes as the Saints fall to 5-7 straight up (SU) and 4-8 ATS.

Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers (-7, 38) Final: Steelers 24, Bengals 10
This game seemed like it was going way over the total at half even though it was another miserable night weather wise in Pittsburgh.  The Bengals are one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL as they sit in the bottom of the AFC North.  Pitt stopped their three game losing streak at the pay window and now has a comfortable lead over the Browns for the division title.
