Week 16 NFL Predictions
Jimmy Boyd posts the week 16 NFL
predictions below to let you in on what the
oddsmakers have to say again this week. If you haven’t
been checking out Jimmy’s NFL predictions articles this
season, you’ve been missing out. He takes the point
spread and total of each NFL matchup and uses them to
reveal the projected outcome that oddsmakers base their
lines off of. Jimmy has been using this handicapping
tool for years to gain an advantage on the oddsmakers
and now you can too. It makes a big difference breaking
a line down into the projection of both teams instead of
just looking at each game as a hole.

Here are the week 16 NFL predicted scores according to the books:
Thursday, 12/20/2007
Pittsburgh Steelers 25
St Louis Rams 18
Oddsmakers feel the Steelers will get back up from a couple tough losses to New
England and Jacksonville to conquer the Rams on the road.
Saturday, 12/22/2007
Dallas Cowboys 27
Carolina Panthers 16
The books like Dallas in a bounce back spot against a Panthers team that has
been horrible at home.
Sunday, 12/23/2007
Cleveland Browns 23
Cincinnati Bengals 20
It sure is odd seeing the Browns favored in this matchup. The books don’t have
the 9-5 Browns running away with this one though at 5-9 Cincy.
Green Bay Packers 24
Chicago Bears 13
With the Bears officially eliminated from playoff contention and Green Bay
fighting for home field in the playoffs, oddsmakers like the Pack handily.
Houston Texans 19
Indianapolis Colts 26
The books don’t see the Colts going exactly all out here against the Texans
having already clinched the #2 spot in the AFC, but home field should mean a win
nevertheless.
Kansas City Chiefs 19
Detroit Lions 24
Oddsmakers like the Lions at home in this battle of struggling teams. A loss by
K.C. here would be its 8th straight. If the Chiefs can pull off the upset, it
would be Detroit’s 7th straight.
New York Giants 17
Buffalo Bills 15
New York’s recent struggles and the Bills’ resiliency has oddsmakers feeling
confident that Buffalo will make this one interesting.
Oakland Raiders 13
Jacksonville Jaguars 26
The Jags are proving that they will be a force in the postseason. Oakland’s lack
of offense, especially on the road, has the books liking the Jags big.
Philadelphia Eagles 22
New Orleans Saints 25
The Saints’ offense has been turning it on of late resulting in back-to-back
wins and wins in 3 of their last 4 games. Oddsmakers don’t feel the Eagles can
duplicate its performance against Dallas last week as there is no division
rivalry attachment to this one.
Atlanta Falcons 17
Arizona Cardinals 27
Solid home play continues for Arizona as it beats up on the dirty birds, which
are just 1-6 on the road.
Baltimore Ravens
Seattle Seahawks
Seattle should be a pretty heavy favorite against the Ravens here. Baltimore
bottomed out last week losing its 8th straight to then winless Miami.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 21
San Francisco 49ers 15
Tampa Bay’s sub .500 road record has not instilled complete confidence in
oddsmakers, especially with the Niners coming off a home win. Still, the books
like the better team.
Miami Dolphins 12
New England Patriots 34
20-point chalk again for the Pats, even with the possibility that Belichick
could call off the dogs in the second half? Oddsmakers have been embarrassed too
many times this season by New England to do otherwise.
New York Jets 14
Tennessee Titans 23
The Jets are just 1-6 on the road this season and with Tennessee still having
some shot at the postseason, oddsmakers feel the Titans will take care of
business.
Washington Redskins 17
Minnesota Vikings 23
The books really like the way the Vikes are rolling right now, having won 5
straight. They are 5-2 in the dome this season and that gives Minnesota the edge
here against the Skins.
Monday, 12/24/2007
Denver Broncos 19
San Diego Chargers 28
Denver is just 2-5 on the road this season. Oddsmakers expect that poor road
play to continue against the Chargers, which are 6-1 at home and have won four
in a row.
